Piano lessons are professionally structured, encouraging, and tailored to each pupil’s individual development.
Whether you are seeking steady weekly progress, examination preparation, or simply an enjoyable and structured musical journey, the lesson options below provide clear and flexible choices.

45-minute lessons allow more time for deeper musical development and are often chosen by intermediate pupils and adult learners.
60 Minutes
• 10 Lesson Block – £460
• 5 Lesson Block – £240
• Weekly Flexible – £60 per lesson
20-minute lessons (School-based only):
• 10 Lesson Block – £190
• 5 Lesson Block – £105
• Weekly Flexible – £24 per lesson
20-minute lessons are offered at school only and are subject to school timetable availability.
Payment is made by bank transfer.
Lesson Availability
As lesson places are limited, a small waiting list is sometimes maintained.
Current pupils always receive priority for their ongoing lesson time, and every effort is made to ensure continuity of tuition for pupils learning at home or within school.
Introductory Lesson
The introductory lesson is £25.
This relaxed first session is typically around 30 minutes and allows us to assess current level, discuss musical interests and explain how lessons are structured.
There is no obligation to continue, but if you choose to proceed the £25 is credited against your first block booking.

• At St Andrew’s CE Primary School
• At Epping Primary School
Travel is included within the 25-mile radius.

Lessons are designed to feel steady, achievable and enjoyable — never overwhelming.
⏱ Extended Lessons
If additional time is required, 60-minute lessons may be extended in 15-minute blocks at £12 per block.
Payment Structure
Block bookings are payable in advance and secure a regular weekly lesson time.
Weekly lessons are payable one week in advance and reserve a consistent weekly time slot.
Advance payments reserve that time exclusively and are therefore non-refundable if lessons are permanently discontinued.
Cancellation Policy
Lessons require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice for cancellation or rearrangement.
Where sufficient notice is given, an alternative time will be offered wherever possible.
Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice may still be charged in full.

If you refer a friend who books an introductory lesson plus 5 or 10 lessons, then both of you will receive a complimentary lesson.
Complimentary lessons match the pupil’s usual lesson length.
Additional Services
Support beyond the lesson is available where required, including:
• Portfolio and CV preparation
• Rehearsal or audition attendance
• Career guidance and progression advice
• Studio session support
Additional services are charged at the standard hourly tuition rate and agreed in advance depending on time and travel requirements.
Practical Arrangements
Lessons are booked as a regular weekly time slot.
For younger pupils, a parent or responsible adult should be present in the home during in-person lessons.
Where lessons take place online, appropriate supervision is required for pupils under 18.
Full lesson policies are provided upon booking.
Exam Preparation
Preparation is available for ABRSM or Trinity examinations, taken in person at an official exam centre.

Sharing Information:
Kevin Barr Music does not share personal data with third parties. The only information ever published (on this website or social media) is only done with the express permission of the student. (If under 18 years of age then that of their parents or guardians). In publishing, only the student’s first name will be used, and any photos or videos only after they have been fully approved in advance.
If you’d prefer your name not to appear at all, just let me know – I’m happy to accommodate your wishes.
