Lessons are structured, encouraging and tailored to each individual.
Below you’ll find clear pricing options, whether you prefer block booking or weekly flexibility.

• 10 Lesson Block – £250

45 Minutes
• 10 Lesson Block – £350
• 5 Lesson Block – £180

60 Minutes
• 10 Lesson Block – £460
• 5 Lesson Block – £235
• Weekly Flexible – £48 per lesson
20-minute lessons (School-based only):
• Block of 10: £24 per lesson (£240 total)
• Block of 5: £22 per lesson (£110 total)
• Weekly: £19 per lesson
(20-minute lessons are offered at school only and are subject to school timetable availability.)
Introductory Lesson
The introductory lesson is £25.
This initial session is typically around 30 minutes and is designed to assess level, discuss goals and explain how lessons are structured.
In some cases, a little additional time may be needed for discussion — but ongoing lesson durations and fees follow the standard pricing outlined above.
If you choose to continue, the £25 is credited against your first block booking.

• In the comfort of your own home (within 25 miles of Harlow, Essex)
• Online
• At St Andrew’s CE Primary
• At Epping Primary School
Travel is included within the 25-mile radius.

Lessons are designed to feel steady and achievable — never overwhelming.
Payment Structure
Block bookings are payable in advance and secure a regular weekly lesson time.
Weekly lessons are payable one week in advance and reserve a consistent weekly time slot.
Advance payments reserve that time exclusively and are therefore non-refundable if lessons are permanently discontinued.
Cancellation Policy
Lessons require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice for cancellation or rearrangement.
Where sufficient notice is given, an alternative time will be offered wherever possible.
Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice may still be charged in full.

Book Your Introductory Lesson
If you’d like to begin, the next step is simple.
⏱ Extended Lessons
Need more time? Extend your 60-minute lesson in 15-minute blocks at a discounted rate of £11 per block.
✅ Flexible Music Tuition
Home-Based Tuition: I offer lessons in the comfort of your own home if you live within a 25-mile radius of Harlow, Essex. This can be combined with online sessions for flexibility.
Online Lessons: Available to everyone, wherever you’re located, and can be mixed with home-based sessions depending on your location, needs and availability.
School Tuition: Offered during school hours at Epping Primary and St Andrews CE Primary, North Weald. Additional home-based and online lessons can be arranged during holidays, and I can help students prepare for assemblies or concerts.

If you refer a friend who books an introductory lesson plus 5 or 11 lessons, then both of you will receive a complimentary lesson.
🎬 Additional Services (Ancillary Fees)
I also offer support beyond the lesson:
Portfolio and CV help, Rehearsal and Audition Attendance, Career Guidance, Studio sessions and more… All ancillary services are priced the same as standard tuition and are negotiable depending on time/travel.
📜 Practical Lesson Details
To keep lesson times reserved for each pupil:
• I ask for at least 24 hours notice if a lesson needs to be changed
• Late cancellations are charged as the time cannot usually be filled
• Forgotten books or materials may mean we use the time differently but the lesson still runs
Lessons are booked as a regular weekly slot and a small credit (one lesson) is kept on the account to keep the space secure.
For younger pupils, a parent or responsible adult should be at home during the lesson (in person or online).
Advance payments reserve a regular lesson time and therefore can’t be refunded if lessons are permanently discontinued.
Any complimentary or referral lessons match the pupil’s usual lesson length.
Exam preparation is offered for ABRSM or Trinity exams taken in person at an official exam centre.

For students under 18 years of age, all information is only collected with parental or guardian consent.

All data provided via this website, phone, email, SMS, or post is stored securely. Social media activity is monitored, and no personal information is shared publicly without express consent.
Sharing Information:
Kevin Barr Music does not share personal data with third parties. The only information ever published (on this website or social media) is only done with the express permission of the student. (If under 18 years of age then that of their parents or guardians). In publishing, only the student’s first name will be used, and any photos or videos only after they have been fully approved in advance.
If you’d prefer your name not to appear at all, just let me know – I’m happy to accommodate your wishes.
