Kevin Barr Music Press Release
November 14, 2009 CD Debut – for immediate release
Juno nominated Yukon musician, Kevin Barr is raising the bar with his first single CD release titled Lost and Found. Taking inspiration from childhood memories and musical mentors, this solo foray includes songs penned by him along with songs learned at the family hearth from his father, uncles and family friends. It’s a musical journey of songs not forgotten fused with original tunes conceived from years of sharing the stage with various musicians and bands in Yukon and internationally.
A veteran of the Yukon music scene, journeyman Barr has created Lost and Found with a wealth of experience drawn from his impressive musical career, most notably as lead singer and co-founder of the The Undertakin Daddies, nominated for a Juno in 2001 and a Western Coast Music Award in 2002. He is proud to note that Lost and Found is a self- funded venture recorded with long time friend and collaborator Tim Jeffery (formerly of the Honky Tonk Heroes) at his Riverfront Studio in Bragg Creek Alberta.
Following the Whitehorse CD release, Kevin will be taking his show on the road. The official release of Lost and Found will take place at the Old Firehall in Whitehorse on November 14th 2009 and promises to be a stellar debut. His next date is in Atlin at the Globe Theatre on November 20th where he will be joined by Boyd Benjamin. Upcoming plans in the New Year include a tour of the Philippines and Kevin will be playing at several Folk Festivals across the country.
